Pauls Flower Colma California
Paul's flowers serves the cemeteries of Colma California. The dead to living ratio is almost 1000 to 1 which why Colma is known as "the city of the silent".
Apartment Complex San Bruno California
This apartment complex was revealed to this busy street after the building in front was removed. In its place stand a number of apparatus to collect gas leaking from the ground. Cutaway.
Cruising Ukiah California
The occupants pulled in while I was shooting. We left at exactly the same time.
Paula and Raifords Disco
Memphis is a tight knit community. The day after i took this shot I ran into Raiford at Paynes BBQ. He invited us to come hang out that night and we spent the last hour of our night in his private dressing room. Southern Hospitality.
Waiting 3rd Street Bus Stop
The cool light of the shelter bathes this commuter in patience. Even in San Francisco there are times of solitude.
Overlooking Papalolea
This view is overlooking Papalolea from the punchbowl area. Honolulu shines like a Diamond at night.
Liquor Locker San Bruno
I love good liquor store names. Down the street is "Liquor Land" my favorite in San Francisco is "Drink Liquor". My first real job was in a Liquor store.
Church of Christ Crescent City California
Part of my series "The Density of Air" this church stands out in a town sometimes forgotten. Crescent city is one of the most beautiful locations in California. It is unfortunate the remote nature of the town limits its viability.
The Lark Motel Willits
This is my home base for my photo project in Laytonville. There is nothing extraordinary about The Lark but that is exactly why I frequent this motel. The possibilities for scenarios in a generic motel like this let the mind wander.
Humboldt Motorsports Crescent City California
I always feel a tremble of excitement when I see blue lighting at night. This business was gone last time I went here. Crescent city is astoundingly beautiful, but equally hard to carve a living out of.
Emergency Security Booth UCSF San Francisco
Red Pacific Bell phones could only be for specific users. I have a black rotary in my office but I would live a red one with a direct line to the Kremlin.
Pacifica Post Office
I have architectural criteria for subjects. I drive the streets at night like I'm a casting agent. It does get a bit stalky.
Peach Tree Street Vacaville California
The coolest House in the neighborhood I grew up in. There where a few Mid-Century moderns in my old neighborhood but this was the most together.
UCSF StemCell Research Building
This building fascinates me. Not only is it incredibly important but it is nearly completely hidden from public view. Architecture that has to conform to the surrounding terrain offers a more integrated feel to the steel mega structure.
UCSF from Mt. Parnassus
Since the UCSF campus whole campus is up on the hill it gains an extra sense of height. I used to hear dogs barking all the time back here. My wife told me "those are monkeys too."
3rd Street Parking Structure
The purpose built nature of parking structures lends itself to unusual architectural explorations. This building contains an elevator shaft.
